Linger is the second book in the ‘Wolves of Mercy Falls’ series by Maggie Stiefvater. Continuing from ‘Shiver’ the first book, Linger follows Grace, Sam and their beautiful but forbidden romance in the town of Mercy Falls. This book also has the view points of Isabel, Grace’s friend from the first book and Cole a new werewolf who is a ‘broken’ rock star. As their lives entangle and collide, the four characters are revealed more and more by the beautiful, poetic writing of Stiefvater with a little input from the German poet Ripke.
The best thing about this series is that the story is written in the first person abut from multiple viewpoints. Each character has such a strong individual voice that the reader does not get confused even once.
I agree with the back cover of the book that says ‘best book to curl up with’. You would want to do just that as you get lost in the world of the beautiful Wolves.
