The second book in the Shiva trilogy by Amish Tripathi starts exactly where it’s prequel Immortals of Meluha ended.
This series logically and realistically explains all the feats and fables that have supernatural elements in the Indian mythology and it does so with great panache. Lord Shiva is on his quest to end evil and the path is somehow leading him to the Nagas. The deformed and condemned tribe of the Nagas, on the other hand, have secrets and reasons of their own.
The descriptive narrative style takes the reader to Ancient India as the author slowly and steadily reveals truths behind customs and rituals modern Indians follow without questioning their origin or reason.
It is evident that the author has done immense amounts of research before taking on this humongous task of turning the story of a God into the story of a very honourable man. A very addictive read.
Overall Rating: 8.5/10

Shiva Trilogy is a masterpiece by Amish. Anyone with even the slightest idea about Shiva -the great Indian God- will simply love this one. This book and the other two of the Trilogy will sweep u off your feet. You will also have to keep all ur previous knowledge and notions about Shiva aside, when u dive into Amish’s story. This is because Amish has portrayed Shiva and his story in a very different manner. His characters are all human, including Shiva…. they eat, drink, love, get injured, and die too!! Probably, this is the factor which makes this story so interesting, so beautiful, and so much more believable!!!!!
Shiva Trilogy. A absolute must read.

The Immortals of Meluha is the first book that I read of Amish Tripathi and I was super impressed. Such a beautiful portrayal of Lord Shiva and retelling of his story. It had a human touch and every part of the narration including the characters was so relatable.
I recommend everyone to read all the three masterpieces of the Shiva trilogy and thanks for such a great review.
Thanks.
